New mandated premises and settings by 31 July 2021
From next week, the Tasmanian Government will start to phase in the requirement for Tasmanian’s to check in, via the Check in Tas app, in new locations. A full list of the new locations is expected to be finalised this/next week. All locations will need to have their QR codes in place by the 31 July. Refer to below for a brief outline and be sure to check the Tasmanian Government’s www.CoronaVirus.tas.gov.au website for updated information.

Workers who enter their workplace, if their workplace requires the use of Check in TAS, will only need to check in once a day.

Premises and business included in the new Direction to use Check in TAS will have until the end of July to have their QR code and to support the use of Check in Tas by their patrons.   A premise or business can register for their code here.

End to 15 minute rule

In addition to the extended range of premises, people aged 16 years and older will be required to check in whenever they enter a premises, not only when they stay for longer than 15 minutes. This change will come into effect from Wednesday 7 July 2021. Therefore, if you enter a premise from Wednesday 7 July 2021, you will be expected to use Check in TAS no matter how long you spend at that premises (or the manual form if you have no device, the business has no device, or there is no internet).
