What is the Target Talent Program?
Athletics Tasmania delivers the national program, including education sessions for athletes, parents and coaches, to assist athletes along the pathway to senior representation. The focus is on athletes between the age groups of U14 and U20 who have achieved Top 6 results at the National All Schools, with discretionary selection for athletes nominated for Nationals.
Purpose of the program
The key purpose is to identify and assist in developing talented, emerging athletes aged 13-19, with the potential and motivation to attain National representative standards.
AT and the TIS are committed to support these athletes and their coaches along a pathway that provides appropriate development to a career in Track and Field.
It is envisaged that this group will be the major focus of Track and Field development in Tasmania.
