Stuart has been an official for athletics in the south of the state for 10 years. He has been the chief official for pole vault competitions in Tasmania for the past 5 years.

His experience extends to being a board member for Athletics South - vice president, and UTAS Athletics Club - President. Stuart has children invloved with the sport and he himself is a registered athlete.
