IMPORTANT MATTERS TO NOTE:

  • If more than 10 athletes confirm for the 100yards Men final - timed finals will be conducted to determine the overall result
  • All 5000m races will be held concurrently in accordance with World Athletics Technical Rules - with separate medal deteminations
  • If the eventual total number of entered relay teams in 8 or less, both championships will be held concurrently - with seperate medal determinations

This is the entry portal for 2025-26 Tasmanian (AT) Open 60m, 100yds and Open and Under 20 5000m Track and Field Championships to be held on 7 March 2026 at the Domain Athletic Centre, Hobart in conjunction with the Tasmanian LIttle Athletics Championships. The draft times will be notified once the LA draft TT is completed but the order of events (all in the afternoon/evening) will be as follows: 60m heats (if required) - 60m Final - 100 yards heats (if required) - 100 yards Final and after the completion of the LA track program for the day - 5000m Men Open and U20 - 5000m Women Open and Under 20 - 4x400m Mixed Relay Under 18  - 4x400m Mixed Relay Open.

 

Late entries (in accordance with the principles in the applicable Technical Regulations) will be not be offered on-line. Contact must be made directly with the AT office in person or by phone or email to brian.roe@athletics.org.au.

  1. All events shall be conducted in accordance with the rules of World Athletics, Athletics Australia and Athletics Tasmania and for masters events where applicable, those of TMA, AMA and WMA.
  2. Please enter for each event by indicating in the event box and placing your best performance since 1.10.25.
  3. Entries will close at 10.00pm on Tuesday 3 March 2027. Entry fees for open and under age events should be paid on line. The cost is $16.00 per event. Please note - refunds will not be given under any circumstances.
  4. Late entries (for events not already deleted) will be accepted up to 12 noon on Friday 6 March 2026 under the AT Policy guidelines. An additional Late Entry Fee of $15.00 per event will apply to ALL entries received after the initial closing date.
  5. Entries on the day of competition will be considered in accordance with the Technical Regulations. Late entries will only be accepted where acceptance does not require the conduct of an additional round in the event or the re-instatement of a cancelled event (and there is a place available in the event) or the Competition Director deems there has been a procedural error.
  6. Athletes must be All Competition Registered members of Athletics Tasmania (or another Member Association of Athletics Australia or any other World Athletics Member Federation) and be age eligible - see below.

  8. Athletes with a para-athlete classification and wishing to compete with such classification must indicate their existing or expected classification in the relevant box on the entry form. Para-athletes will in general where circumstances permit compete simultaneously with other athletes in each event entered.

  9. MULTIPLE ENTRIES: no restriction

  10. RESTRICTIONS ON EVENT ENTRIES: The following age limitations set out in Technical Regulation 27 will apply for Tasmanian track and field championships:

  11. 27.1 an athlete must turn 14 years of age in the year of competition to compete in steeplechase or events of a distance in excess of 3000m subject to 27.4;
    27.2 an athlete must turn 12 years of age in the year of competition and have received skill training from an accredited coach beforehand to compete in pole vault and hammer throw competitions; 
    27.3 an athlete turning 12 or 13 in the year of competition will only be permitted to compete in Under 14 age group plus relays in older age groups. Athletes turning 13 in the year of competition may compete in the under 15 200m hurdles, 3000m and/or combined event);
    27.4 an athlete must turn 16 years of age in the year of competition to compete in events of distance in excess of 5000 metres (with the exception as provided in 27.5);
    27.5 an athlete must turn 14 in the year of competition in order to compete in a 5000m race walk championship. An athlete must turn 15 in the year of competition in order to compete in the 10000m race walk championship;
    27.6 an athlete must turn 16 in the year of competition in order to compete in men's throwing, hurdles or steeplechase event in the under 20 or open age groups.
