Athletics Tasmania confirms Board and Office Bearers for 2026/2027 season

Hobart, Tasmania — Athletics Tasmania is pleased to confirm its Board and Office Bearers for the 2026/2027 season, following the organisation’s Annual General Meeting.

The Board will continue to guide the strategic direction of the sport across Tasmania, with a focus on strong governance, safe and inclusive participation, improved athletics facilities, and continued collaboration with clubs, athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers and partners.

Athletics Tasmania warmly welcomes returning Director Kim Enklaar and looks forward to her continued contribution to the Board. The organisation also extends its sincere thanks to outgoing Director Caleb Gardner for his service, commitment and contribution to athletics in Tasmania.

Following the AGM, the Board re-elected Damon Thomas as Chair. Mr Thomas said he was grateful for the confidence shown in him and excited about the year ahead.

“Being re-elected as President of Athletics Tasmania is a responsibility I accept with enthusiasm. The next 12 months present an important opportunity to continue building a stronger, safer and more united athletics community. We will keep progressing the journey towards greater unification across our sport, advocate for improved facilities across the state, and strengthen the relationship between the Board and the many people who contribute to athletics every week. With Brisbane 2032 on the horizon, Tasmania has a once-in-a-generation opportunity to share in the legacy of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and I want Athletics Tasmania to be ambitious in maximising those benefits for current and future generations.”
