Athletics Tasmania and Little Athletics Tasmania farewells Blake Steele and welcomes Glen Taylor as new Joint CEO

 

The Boards of Little Athletics Tasmania, and Athletics Tasmania are delighted to today announce Glen Taylor as the new Joint Chief Executive Officer of Athletics Tasmania and Little Athletics Tasmania.

 

The joint appointment further solidifies the partnership between Athletics Tasmania and Little Athletics Tasmania.

 

“We warmly welcome Glen and are confident his experience and passion will take Tasmanian Athletics to new heights in this new era of unified leadership,” said Damon Thomas & Paul Mommers - Presidents of Athletics Tasmania & Little Athletics Tasmania.

 

“We look forward to working with Glen to further strengthen our pathways, enhance our community engagement, build commercial sustainability, champion for our infrastructure needs, and inspire the next generation of Tasmanian athletes.”

 

Glen Taylor joins us from his consultancy work with Little Athletics NSW as well as his previous role as Chief Executive Officer at Capitol Athletics where he led the amalgamation of Little Athletics and Athletics ACT. Glen has fostered good culture, led change, put in place membership growth initiatives and modernised competition pathways across his leadership in Athletics. A former board member of Little Athletics NSW, Glen brings vast experience in the sport, including community engagement and commercial partnerships.

 

“I am thrilled to be appointed as the Joint CEO of Athletics Tasmania and Little Athletics Australia,” said Taylor.

 

“Tasmania has a proud athletics history, and I’m excited to work with Clubs, Branches and the Little Athletics community to build on recent progress and drive participation right across the state.”

 

Glen will conclude his consulting duties and will commence with Athletics & Little Athletics Tasmania this month. Glen aims to relocate and be on the ground by August.

 

The Boards thank Blake Steele for his leadership and dedication in working to improve the sport and especially work in building collaboration between the two organisations. We wish him the very best as a young dad back with family in South Australia and every success in his new endeavours working with Athletics Australia.
