2023 Athletics Australia All Schools Track & Field Championships - Perth, WA
The SSA and Athletics Australia All Schools Track & Field Championships are back on for 2023 and Athletics Tasmania will be taking state teams for athletes that have been selected and have nominated for the above events.
2023 Tasmanian All Schools State Track & Field Championships - Launceston, TAS
In order to be eligible to make any state team, all athletes will have to compete at the Tasmanian All Schools State Track & Field Championships which are to be held at the Northern Athletics Centre, St. Leonards, TAS on Saturday 21st October – Sunday 22nd October. This championship is for 10-12 year old primary school athletes and 13-18 year old secondary school athletes.

2023 School Sport Australia Primary Track & Field Championships – Launceston, TAS
The 2023 SSA Track & Field Nationals will be held on Tasmanian soil in Launceston from Thursday 23rd November – Monday 27th November.

The team will be selected based on the policy found at the portal above. Those eligible to nominate will be required to accept their place in the team by paying the required amount and registering their details by Monday the 30th of October. The final team will be announced once all nominations have been accepted and payment made by the Friday 3rd of November. Further details will be emailed to those that have qualified on the Monday after the State Championships.
As the SSA Championships are only 4 weeks after Tasmanian State Championships, athletes/families will need to look to organise travel and accommodation as soon as possible, and may like to organise this ahead of the State Championships in order to secure arrangements.
2023 Athletics Australia All Schools Track & Field Championships – Perth, WA
The 2023 Australian All Schools Track & Field Nationals will be held in Perth, WA from Friday 8th December – Sunday 10th December.

The website has a DRAFT timetable available.
Those eligible to nominate will be contacted in the days after the State All Schools Championships to notify them. Those who choose to nominate will accept by paying the required amount and registering their details by Friday 3 November. The final team will be announced once all nominations have been accepted and payment made on the Monday 13 November.

NB: To clarify the information:
1. Primary School Athletes are 10-12 yrs at the Tas State Champs and also at the SSA National Champs.
2. Secondary School Athletes are U14/U16/U18 only at the Tas State Champs but at the All Schools National Champs this year they are having every age group of U14/U15/U16/U17/U18 and U20 para only.
3. Selection for SSA is top 3 in each age group in each event.
4. Selection for All Schools is top 2 in each age group in each event - this means that at Tas State Champs there will be only U14/U16/U18 medals awarded in these age groups, however selection for All Schools Nationals will be the top 2 from each of the age groups in each event (e.g. 2x U15 & 2x U16 etc.) This selection will be done post championships to ensure the correct age groups are used to select the team.
